Wheel Throwing: Level 2 & 3 Hybrid is a six week class with an open format take on our Level 2 & 3 courses here at Edgewater Pottery. Participants with experience working in clay, either at Edgewater Pottery or elsewhere will be well suited for this class. This course will be taught by Zoë Holland, a new instructor in the studio we’re really excited to have on board.
Over the course of 6 weeks there will be demos and instruction covering throwing and decoration techniques that include; repetition throwing, making matching shapes, extended forms, more complex constructions and the pursuit of your own personal style!
This class’ sessions begin on Monday, September 14th, 2026 and run for 6 consecutive weeks, with the final class on Monday, October 19th, 2026.
Classes are from 7 pm to 9 pm with open studio hours on Sunday mornings from 11 am to 1 pm beginning on September 20th, 2026. Open studio hours are great if you’ve missed or will be missing a class, want to work on class pieces or an independent project.

About the Instructor
Zoë Holland, a ceramicist from Virginia has been working with clay for the past five years. Starting as a self-taught potter throwing on an old wheel left outside, throwing rain or shine, she continued on to do ceramics at Oberlin, where she recently graduated from. She has also studied ceramics at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Nowadays she makes mostly functional wheel thrown work and is currently enjoying making vessels with exposed clay, teeny, tiny little vases and low, wide bowls.
